The “Oasis Project” is an environmental protection project of Future Smile Foundation. This project is badly needed in Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. This area is located at the intersection of China's three largest deserts, Badan Jaran, Tengger Desert, Ulanbuh Shamo, Its 270,000 square kilometers is considered one of the most serious areas of desertification in the World. This region is the source of north China's sandstorms. When the three deserts “shake hands”, they heavily impact the overall natural environment of China, and will cover half of China with yellow sand for a long time. The desert sand blown by the wind arrive to the city in the form a sandstorm, part of which forms the haze of PM2.5 particles. The Haloxylon ammodendron tree is known as "the patron saint of desert ecology“. One adult tree crown expands 3 - 5 meters, and its roots are deep enough to fix 10 square meters of desert.
With support from the local government and farmers in Alxa League, Future Smile assisted in preparing over 10000 acres of land in Alxa for planting and cultivating Haloxylon ammodendron trees. This was done via online fund-raising and public participation. Planting Haloxylon trees can effectively help desert areas curb desertification and maintain ecological balance. In addition, it helped citizens recognize the seriousness of desertification, and actively protect the ecological environment. The "Oasis Project" promoted the participation of farmers and herdsmen around Alxa League, thus helping the problem of local employment, and created economic benefits for the local government.

In poor and remote areas, the infrastructure and access to technology is severely lacking. Future Smile carried out rural radio and television programs in Zhejiang Taizhou to let families in these areas have electricity thus opening a window to the outside World. In Kaihua Quzhou, Future Smile cooperated with Zhejiang Revolutionary Old Area Development Foundation to train and guide local women in planting tea and dendrobium officinale. Technical poverty alleviation let local women recover from poverty, and regain their dignity and status, by combining with the characteristics of the local resources.
